Nurturing Neurodiversity. Unlocking Potential.

Since 1987, Oak Hill Academy has served the educational needs of complex, neurodiverse students in the Dallas metroplex and created a much-needed sense of belonging for students and their families.

With nearly 140 enrolled students from more than 60 ZIP codes, Oak Hill is truly a destination school that nurtures neurodiversity and unlocks potential for students in preschool through 12th grade.

By improving and expanding our campus facilities, we can continue providing our amazing students with the best learning experience now and in the years to come. The capital campaign will reimagine the Oak Hill campus through the following focused initiatives:

New High School Campus

New High School Campus

Oak Hill Academy at Cochran Chapel, located at 9027 Midway Road in Dallas, opened in August 2025 with renovated spaces for our oldest students to continue their academic learning, practice hands-on life skills, and further develop social skills and executive functioning, all while fostering independence. Besides expanded facilities for Oak Hill’s Transition and Life Skills Program, the campus features classrooms with abundant natural light, a student lounge, an outdoor dining terrace, and shaded recreation space.

Preschool and Elementary Playgrounds

Preschool and Elementary Playgrounds

Outdoor play is a vital part of the whole-child curriculum at Oak Hill Academy, and students build core strength, balance, gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and social-emotional skills during their time on the playground. Thanks to generous early capital campaign donations, Phase I of the elementary playground was transformed in March 2025. Now, Oak Hill is looking to fund Phase II that will replace a large section of concrete with turf and a fitness track featuring a climbing apparatus, monkey bars and ninja jumping pods.

Gym/Multipurpose Community Space

Gym/Multipurpose Community Space

The Oak Hill gym is the indoor hub of campus, and the school seeks to revamp this multipurpose space to accommodate large events, performances, PE classes, sports practices, and much more. The current space has poor acoustics and lighting, and many Oak Hill students with auditory sensitivities must wear noise-canceling headphones or even miss out on events due to the overstimulating sound quality. This space can transform into a true community gathering spot on campus by reconfiguring the space, bringing in natural light, improving the acoustics, and updating the finishes.
See the new space!

General Classroom Refresh

General Classroom Refresh

The high school relocation allows Oak Hill Academy to repurpose classrooms on the original campus to serve more preschool through middle school students. With extra classrooms, we can maintain our low teacher-to-student ratio while serving even more neurodiverse students and their families. And there is a great need, as many grades typically have waitlists! This classroom refresh will provide paint, cabinetry and other interior touchups in classrooms across campus to give students and teachers clean and inviting learning spaces.
