Therapy and Tutoring Clinic
Oak Hill Academy’s preschool program is a beacon of hope for children with learning differences, speech language disorders and developmental delays.
Oak Hill’s whole-child learning approach includes many extra supports as part of the curriculum, such as language-rich early childhood programs, social skills incorporated into classroom learning and “motor lab” daily sensory exercises. But many of our students benefit from added therapies and academic support beyond the curriculum. For those students, Oak Hill offers several additional on-campus services through our Therapy and Tutoring Clinic and Suggs Pediatric Outpatient Therapy.
Our Therapy and Tutoring Clinic provides individual speech language therapy, speech language assessments and academic tutoring for Oak Hill students, as well as children and adolescents from the community. Individual speech language therapy is provided before, after and during the school day. Academic tutoring is provided before and after school. Speech language assessments are scheduled on an individual basis depending on the needs and age of the child. All of these services are also available year-round.
All of these services are child-centered and offer the benefit of improved communication between teachers and on-site providers. Therapists and tutors design a custom program to meet the specific challenges of each individual and work collaboratively with teachers to optimize a child’s own personal growth.
For more information about any of these services, contact Karen Crance, MS, CCC-SLP, Director of the Therapy and Tutoring Clinic.
