SUMMER 2025 CAMPS
Oak Hill Academy will stay active over the summer break to help students continue to grow and thrive. We offer a variety of programs that emphasize developing the whole child through art, language development, social skills, physical activity, science and communications for students starting in preschool.
If you have questions about OHA’s summer camp programming, please email Lilly Nauman at lnauman@oakhillacademy.org.
Tadpoles Language Camp
Speech-Language Camp for 3-5 year olds (incoming preschool)
Our three one week Tadpole sessions are structured as a therapy-based camp for 3–5 year olds with receptive and/or expressive speech and language delays. The sessions are designed and led by experienced, certified Speech Language Pathologists to specifically target students’ communication, play and social skills. To ensure that each child receives individualized instruction, we maintain a low teacher-student ratio with a maximum of four students for each Speech Language Pathologist. The structure of our Tadpoles Summer Learning Camp is intended to lay the foundation for academic success. Singing songs, playing games, and exposing children to a school routine also prepares students for the coming school year.

Session 1 - Social Sprouts: This week, our social sprout campers will practice social thinking and pragmatic language concepts, such as the group plan, size of the problem, expected and unexpected choices, flexible and stuck thinking, perspective taking, and zones of regulation. These are all helpful and necessary concepts for students to regulate their emotions and successfully interact with peers and will be targeted through crafts, small group activities, and structured play time.
Session 2 - Language Intervention through Cooking: Students will learn about cooking, following recipes, and engaging with others in the kitchen all while targeting language skills, pragmatic skills, social thinking concepts, and sensory integration. The kiddos will be in the kitchen during this hands-on and tasty week of camp, practicing turn taking, vocabulary and describing, following directions, and much more -- all while enjoying a yummy treat!
Session 3 - Lego Camp: Lego camp is a hands-on, interactive, creative play and building camp. Students will focus on problem solving, vocabulary expansion, and teamwork to build various lego creations. Creativity is a must! Social thinking concepts, such as the zones of regulation, size of the problem and perspective taking, will be targeted to help students successfully build lego creations and interact with peers.
Session 4 - Language Leaps: Language Leaps camp will heavily focus on language intervention. With a different story book each day, (Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, etc.), the kids will get to do fun crafts, sequencing activities, practice answering wh- questions, and discuss characters and setting. Social Stars Camp
Summer Camp
The Social Stars Camp is designed to take social learning to the next level. The program is based on Michelle Garcia Winner’s “Social Detective” curriculum and led by a Speech Language Pathologist. Students will practice identifying what others are planning to do, how they are feeling or what they are thinking based on the “clues” that they provide with their words, body language and facial expressions. This camp will aid in supporting students’ growth in social awareness and peer to peer engagement. Each week will have a different theme to keep students motivated and engaged! Students will create a toolkit filled with the “tools” we need to be effective social investigators and use these tools in a variety of fun-filled activities such as scavenger hunts, crafts, reading books and acting out different routines!
